In utter dissynchronicity, I happened, on Oct1st, 2008, to borrow from my local library, The Andromeda Breakthrough by Fred Hoyle &amp; John Elliot which seems to be an appreciation of &quot;A for Andromeda&quot;, commentary and other bits&#039;n&#039;pieces from the cutting room floor. Oddly I&#039;d never seen the 1961 BBC TV version but have read references to it for many a long year.
So now I’m inspired to read the origina and try to find the 1961 version. Rather like “Qatermass &amp; the Pit” and the early ‘Dr Who’s, the tension &amp; thrill is in the writing, not SFX</description>
